Aventures des Toiles is a world apart, where many rules are turned on their head: in the space of a season, 7 artists
become the inspiration for our creative team.
Destined to become the visual references and sources of inspiration for the new collection, the artistic works are
subjected to a demanding selection process. At its core, the artists’ talent is assessed by the yardstick of the
label’s aesthetic values and the main themes developed for each new season: does the painting, whatever its style,
correspond to the ethos of the company? Does it offer sufficiently strong pictorial elements to support the complete
line? Will its reinterpretation in textile form give it a new lease of life? Each selected fabric is both a gamble
and a promise.
Exhibitions, viewings and galleries… so many places are tirelessly explored to find, season after season, the artists
who are capable of meeting all the conditions. Each of the 7 paintings which inspire the collection represents an
encounter which becomes an extended dialogue of colour and form, finishing up with an original creation: a garment
for everyday use or just for really big occasions – a magical object which transforms the viewer of the painting into a
presenter of the canvas.
