Une alchimie de résines et de pigments pour saisir l’éphémère et l’extraire du temps…  le travail d’Edouard Buzon est le fruit d’un long processus.

Departing from a black and white snapshot to charm it with colours. Redraw the contours of a landscape and freeze it under the brilliance of a perfect varnish. An alchemy of resins and pigments to grasp the fleeting moment in time… The work of Edouard Buzon is a long process of transformation.

Tout commence avec la recherche d’un lieu. La préférence est donnée aux bâtiments abandonnés, voués à la destruction et déjà reconquis par la végétation.

It all begins with the search for a location. His preference is for abandoned buildings, doomed to destruction and already reconquered by vegetation.

Photographiés, agrandis et marouflés sur bois, ces clichés sont investis par l’artiste, qui y ajoute ses propres dessins au feutre, entoure un ou plusieurs détails, jette quelques mots griffonnés par-dessus l’image. Viennent ensuite les couches successives de pigments et de vernis.

Enlarged and glued down on wood, the artist invests each snapshot with his own drawings in pen, encircles it with one or more details and throws in a few scribbled words on top of the image. Next come the successive layers of pigments and varnish.
 

Paradoxalement, l’accumulation des matériaux agit comme un révélateur : « Je vernis, je ponce, je vernis, je ponce cinq ou six fois jusqu’au moment ou quelque chose se fixe, naît, ressort, ce que j’appelle la magie ».

Paradoxically, the accumulation of materials doesn’t mask, but reveals: "I varnish, I rub down five or six times until something comes into focus, is born, emerges – what I call the magic of the process".

A petites touches colorées, la collection été 2012 fait son apparition dans les boutiques. Comme à chaque saison, sept toiles d’artistes contemporains ont inspiré l’équipe créative et ont donné naissance à sept lignes au caractère bien affirmé.

Slightly showing its colourful touches, the Summer2012 collection is appearing in shops. As in every season, seven paintings by contemporary artists have inspired the creative team and have produced seven different and well asserted lines.

L’Artiste invité de la saison est le peintre Philippe Cognée. Prenant l’une des ses toiles comme support de réflexion, l’équipe du style s’est également beaucoup inspirée de la méthode de travail très particulière de Philippe Cognée, que nous aurons bientôt l’occasion de voir en détail. The Invited Artist for the season is the painter Philippe Cognée. One of his paintings has been chosen as a base for a think-tank. Haute en contrastes, la toile d’Isabelle Hervé a permis de créer des effets de juxtaposition et d’opposition entre couleurs chaudes et froides, avec une palette très riche en teintes marrons et orange.
